Sustainability comes in many forms. Whether it's using a particular fabric, adopting a slow fashion approach to design or simply reducing the footprint by keeping production local. Ninety-Eight proudly designs and manufacturers in Toronto, employing dozens of individuals who help in developping the collection season after season.
Many say that manufacturing in Canada is a dying industry, with minimum wage hikes and shortages of qualified workers, it's a difficult decision when it comes to keeping it local. Even with these obstacles, Ninety-Eight proudly produces and manufactures right here at home. Would it be more profitable if it happened abroad? Probably. But on an environmental level, probably not. Although keeping it local drives the prices up, Ninety-Eight continues to provide quality clothing at an accessible price point.
Styles are created for various body shapes of REAL women, pieces that fit and flatter
each shape. The creative trio, Maggie Murphy, Michelle Germain and Andrea McPhail
work tirelessly throughout the design and sample stage to be sure that each of the 6 body shapes are represented: Circle/Rectangle/Triangle/Classic/Inverted Triangle/Hourglass, making fashion inclusive, at long last!
Celebrating women who are perfectly happy with their imperfections, Ninety-Eight
gets it, locally making no brainer clothing that’s easy and comfortable, using only fabrics that are washable, as in Dry Clean Never.
Ninety-eight launched its first collection in Fall 2015 and is now available in over 35
boutiques across Canada.
